Death Medicine

This post may take me a bit to get through, mostly because I have a lot of thoughts running through my head, who doesn’t right now? However they all come back to the same subject DEATH and how maybe that is just the medicine we all needed. DEATH.TRANSFORMATION.RE-BIRTH sure death is literal but also metaphorical and right now the world is dying, structures are crumbling, illusions shattering. Oh man how I wish we could change without it but unfortunately that just hasn’t ever been the case. We literally need to be thrown down into the PLUTONIAN REALMS. THE UNDERWORLD in order to change, to be made a new.

PLUTO: THE AGENT OF DEATH. REBIRTH. DISCOVERY. SHADOWS.

Pluto may not get things done in a neat way, but he gets them done. He doesn’t take time with his change and In some ways this is awesome, I mean lets just get it done right?! And yet WHOA can we take this a little bit slower?

I just returned from 2 weeks camping in a tent with my daughter and our 3 dogs in Oregon. We spent a week on my family property in southern Oregon and a week on the coast, 3 dogs and 2 humans in a tent is WILD and dirty. It was very much needed and led to quite a bit of healing yet also caused me some angst, I realized on this trip that my parents are in fact aging and well human, its been a bit of a mind fuck. Which brought me right back to death, physical and metaphorical. One day my parents will in fact die but in some ways the parent child relationship is already dying, shifting, becoming something new. I’m gonna be thinking this through for a while I believe.

BIBLIOPHILE: Still working on Jung’s The Red Book, I got a physical copy of it because for some reason the audio was not working for me and I’m glad I did I am now thoroughly enjoying it.

REVERB: An oldie but a goodie Opeth’s Damnation you guys I haven’t listened to this album in at least a decade and I don’t know why cause its truly beautiful. I do this thing where I listen to an album or two over and over again when I’m creating new pieces and this is THE ALBUM right now. as well as SUNN O Pyroclasts. On that note new work coming soon(ish) It’s harder than it looks y’all. I put together a playlist if you want to check it out.

PRAXIS: Honestly I took a break while travelling, no actual meditations or kriyas just a lot of beach walks and internal dialogue about the state of the world, the state of my world and my place in it. However I will be continuing with the death medicine immersion so back to the kriyas from my last blog post.
